Titans Kyle Vanden Bosch Sheds Body Fat For A Good Cause
Tennessee Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch has long been regarded as one of the team’s hardest workers.
This offseason he took it up another notch by dropping his body fat from last year’s 8-9 percent to around 5 percent. He hopes the reduction will pay off on the field.
“Physically and mentally I am better than I have ever been in my career, and if all goes well I’ll have a good season,” the two-time Pro Bowl selection said. “Ultimately it is about how many sacks we get as a defensive line and how we perform defensively.”
A good season for Vanden Bosch will also be a good season for Cystic Fibrosis research. Earlier this year he donated $10,000 to help find a cure for the disease, which affects 30,000 children nationwide, including his cousin, Colton.
This season Vanden Bosch plans to donate $1,000 for every sack he records to his foundation — the KVB Sack Foundation — to raise money. He’s asking fans to make pledges on his Web site, kvb93.com. Each fan making a pledge will get a T-shirt and a VIP invitation to the “Tailgate for the Cure” party on Sept. 14.
