Stefanie Graf Joins Husband Andre Agassi As Longines Ambassador
Longines must have a sweet spot for tennis champions.
The brand tapped Stefanie Graf as its new “ambassador of elegance,” a move that will have two major tennis stars–Graf and husband, Andre Agassi–promoting the Swiss watch brand.
“Longines is proud that Stefanie Graf has joined her husband in our family of ambassadors,” Longines President Walter von Kanel said in a release issued on Thursday. “Her excellence, her courage and her commitment to serve others are values that we also respect and promote.”
Agassi became a Longines ambassador in 2007.
During her 17-year tennis career, Graf won every possible title: 902 tournaments including 22 Grand Slams and an Olympic medal. She was the No. 1 player in the Women’s Tennis Association ranking for 377 weeks, a record that has not been beaten to this day.
Graf officially retired in 1999 and has since devoted her time to family–she and Agassi have two children–as well as a charitable foundation she launched, Children for Tomorrow, which aims to help children and families worldwide who have suffered the trauma of war, exile and violence.
“Longines has a long reputation of quality and elegance,” Graf said in the release. “We share many values and a strong commitment for children in need. I am looking forward to enter into a valuable partnership with Longines, which will also benefit my foundation, Children for Tomorrow.”
