Internet Video Surveillance Gives Pro Athletes Peace Of Mind
Professional athletes all over the world are envied for their beautiful homes, exotic automobiles and extravagant lifestyles.
As you know, being a professional athlete is not just about living the life of luxury, it is also a very demanding job both mentally and physically. The hard work and dedication it takes to compete at the top of your game is always accompanied by the tremendous pressure to win.
From attending practices at your team facility, to traveling from game to game during the season, pro athletes spend a great deal of time away from home. These routine absences can be a great cause for stress for not only yourself, but for your entire family and could eventually take its toll on how well you perform on game day.
In addition to the physical stress, a professional athlete must also contend with the emotional stress of living life in the public eye and being perceived as a rich, easy target. All too often you hear of famous people in the limelight being victimized by con-artists, unscrupulous attorneys and opportunistic criminals who are all envious of their wealth.
But with technology such as Internet Video Surveillance, you can fight back and stay one step ahead of the bad guys. By securely broadcasting the video from your security cameras over the Internet, you can monitor your home, family and property from anywhere in the world. It has redefined the way we protect ourselves, our loved ones and most prized possessions. The comfort of being able to keep a watchful eye on things while away is helping people live far less stressful lives than ever before.
Utilizing the same technology as the Government does for Homeland Security and the world’s largest casinos do to protect their revenues, the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) has revolutionized security. Unlike traditional security systems which record on VHS cassettes, the DVR records images in unsurpassed digital quality and stores them on hard drives for months at a time. No more remembering to change tapes or trying to piece together what really happened from poorly recorded images.
The DVR securely password protects the live video broadcasts to insure that nobody else can monitor your cameras with out your authorization. It also is capable of simultaneously recording while playing back the previously recorded events over the Internet. This feature also allows you to remotely burn a DVD of your surveillance evidence for immediate police intervention.
This device also has incredible features such as built in motion detection, which only records images once it senses movement. This virtually eliminates the need to watch dozens of hours of unnecessary footage to view the incident you want to see. With the DVR, you can simply go to the date and time of the event you wish to review in seconds.
Another feature the DVR has is the ability to remotely control cameras online. By simply clicking the mouse, you can move certain PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras 360 degrees left, right, up and down. Zoom allows you to bring the most distant objects into view with amazing clarity.
These cameras also feature Day/Night Technology, which automatically switches the camera from high resolution color by day to infrared black & white night vision to enhance the view of the darkest night. They can be programmed to take an automatic video tour of your property or they can manually switch from predefined presets; making this camera the best solution for monitoring the largest estates.
Whether you want to watch your nanny while she is caring for your baby, monitor your housekeeper when you are away from home or check up on your spouse to see if they are being faithful, covert spy cameras will help keep you informed. Their cameras never blink and never lie.
These surveillance systems can also integrate seamlessly into your home theater system allowing you to watch any of your cameras on any television in the house. Imagine being able to see who is at the front door or check on a crying baby without having to get off the couch. Keeping your eye on things has never been easier.
Since the creation of the Internet in the early 1990’s, it has been played an intricate role in changing the way the world communicates with one another. As the internet evolved, so did the demand for smaller and faster Internet enabled devices. This gave birth to a new breed of communication devices; Pocket PCs, PDAs and Smart Phones.
These handheld devices were once used only as pocket organizers, phonebooks and calendars, but are now fully functioning computers, which have far exceeding anyone’s wildest dreams.
This new mobile computing technology integrates such technologies as cellular phones, digital cameras and Wi-Fi (wireless high-speed internet access). With the use of these technologies, we are able to stay connected to the internet all the time and from anywhere. This makes these devices the most advanced tool in digital surveillance. Used in conjunction with an alarm, you could be instantly alerted that someone jumped over your security gate and is snooping around your property. The applications for these are limited only by your imagination.
Whether you’re in a hotel, the gym, stuck in traffic, or on vacation, this technology allows you to be virtually two places at once. Just imagine the possibilities of being able to see your home and loved ones from anywhere on earth at anytime 24 hours a day.
As simply as checking your email, you now can instantly reassure yourself that everyone and everything is safe and sound. It just might change your life. Or at least it might make being a professional athlete a little less stressful.

While this is quite an impressive system and can offer some peace of mind to the traveling athlete; it should not be viewed as the answer to all of your home security concerns or problems. Being able to see what is going on is just a part of how to respond or deal with a situation. Its like the time when car alarms were the in thing and alarms were sounding off throughout the day every day, so much that when heard they were ignored and vehicles were still being stolen. The audio alarm was only a part of securing the vehicle, not the cure all.
My suggestion to anyone deciding to have this awesome system installed would be to add supplemental components that will enhance the overall security footprint of the residence.
One element alone will not solve all of your security concerns. Security, whether residential or personal, is comprised of several pieces to comprise a solid security puzzle.
